Course Introduction

This is your chance to master essential Salsa steps in a fun, friendly and energetic environment. It’s a partner dance, so you’ll meet plenty of new people along the way, and we offer classes at four different levels – so whether you’re a “complete beginner” who wants to give it a try, or “looking to develop your skills”, in our “improver level”, or hone your skills in our “intermediate level” and “advanced level”, we have just the right Salsa classes for you.

Course levels

Absolute Beginner Level: You will learn essential Salsa steps, in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. You’ll experience rotating partners, work on confidence and dancing technique, whilst being challenged (just enough) to push yourself further and wanting to learn more. No Prior dancing experience required. If you are confident of your basic moves, then you are most welcome to join our next level which is the “Improver Level”. If you are in any doubt as to whether you are ready don’t hesitate to ask your instructor as we are well aware that some people are able to progress more quickly, and some like to take longer in order to perfect their basics and there is no shame in repeating this level couple of times as it will definitely make you a better dancer in the long run.

Improver Level: In order to take our Improver level classes you need to be comfortable and confident with all of the moves and techniques taught at our Beginners’ classes. You need to be able to do the basic leading/following without having to think too much about your feet. We use and adapt the moves you already know, whilst adding in new ones as well, to build interesting moves and turn patterns that can be used whilst dancing. Our emphasis is strongly on teaching moves that are leadable and followable so that you are able to get out onto the dance floor and dance them with fellow Salseros & Salseras.

Course levels

Intermediate Level: Once you are comfortable leading/following the moves taught at Improver level, with good technique, and you are happily dancing socially at parties, then this is the level for you. You will be expected to have a higher level of understanding and skill. You will not benefit from joining an Intermediate class if you are not ready! This level helps to increase dance confidence while learning new moves. It provides extended practice of Cross-Body Lead style, whilst learning a range of more complicated moves & techniques. To enrol at this level, the participant must have attended our Salsa Beginner and Improver level classes or at least a 5-6 months course at another school. This is the level where we sincerely request our students to stay for at least 3-4 months or more

Advanced Level: Requires significant experience. It’s certainly not for beginners or improvers. Ideally this is the level for those who have already completed our beginner, improver and intermediate classes or at least completed 8-12 months or more of salsa training at another school or more. Here more complex moves will be taught thus adding to your existing repertoire! But don’t sweat it because you’re not expected to be perfect either so don’t worry. This is the level where we sincerely request our students to stay for at least 3-4 months or as much as you like after the first 3-4 months

No partner? No worries. Dance With Style’s graceful rotation, embedded into the routines, ensures no one is left dancing alone. But if you do have a partner then they are most welcome to join our workshops too coz the more the merrier!

c). Pre-pay for a 4 Week Course by 3rd Sept: HKD 900/- & bring 1 friend to join the same course at: HKD 600/- = HKD 1500/-

d). Pre-pay for a 4 Week Course by 3rd Sept: HKD 900/- & bring 2 friends to join the same course at: HKD 1300/- = HKD 2200/

e). Pre-pay for 2 different 4 Week Courses by 3rd Sept: HKD 1600/- per person).

f). Pay at the door for a 4 Week Course: HKD 900/- per person

g). Pay at the door for 2 different 4 Week Courses: HKD 1800/- per person

h). Pre-pay or pay at the door for 1 Class: HKD 300 per person

PS: The Pre-pay trial class (a) given above can only be availed once by a participant for a particular class in a month. The participant cannot use the trial class discount (a) above to buy another class of the same course in the same month. Also none of the above given discounts from (b to e) will apply to anyone who has already bought and paid for one class of the 4 week course as a trial class or otherwise and wants to continue for the remaining three classes of a particular course (s). The tickets to the classes are NOT transferrable.

Participants pre-registering via payment in advance for the above classes can avail the discount and will also have their place guaranteed. Hence we encourage interested participants to pre-register via payment.

If one can’t commit to a 4 week course then no problem at all as he/she is welcome to pay per class and attend the class of his or her choice. However those who are interested to pay per class are requested to inform us of their intentions to pay at the door via email us or call/whatsapp/sms atleast 4 hours before the class commences.
